GR8 Supporting Together in West Essex Breast Cancer Charity
GR8 Tool and Equipment Hire have supported Together in West Essex since it opened for business in March 2013. Together in West Essex, charity No.1105575, helps to provide relief to Breast Cancer sufferers in West Essex by the contributing towards the provision of equipment at the Princess Alexandra Hospital Harlow Essex and towards Research at St Margarets Hospital Epping. The charity was set up by Symone White and Karen Thompson, mother of GR8’s director-Josh, in 2003,so far they’ve raised over £400,000 towards Breast Cancer Clinical Trials. Karen stated that, ‘This amount has only been able to be achieved with the help of so many kind and generous people, including all the staff at GR8’.
GR8 Tool and Equipment Hire have organised and ran two 10km charity runs in Bishops Stortford both events raised in the region of £10,000 each year and held a 10km walk in Hatfield Forest. The ‘Hat’field Forest charity walk was a huge success that saw approximately 300 people taking part, many walkers brought their dogs along. It was a fantastic day and was thoroughly enjoyed by all.
GR8 Equipment Hire Charity Hat Challenge
All the GR8 staff are keen to support the charity events and give their time freely. Another charity fund raiser that was started was the #GR8 HAT CHALLENGE. GR8 supplied FREE charity hats, that could be worn anywhere - the more interesting or funnier the photograph-the better. The photos of people wearing their GR8 hat was then posted on Facebook, and the photo with the most likes was the weekly winning photo. GR8 then donated £50 per week for the photograph on behalf of the winner; this raised an additional £1500.
We had many entries from all over the world- The Falklands, Thailand, Harlow, Dunmow, South Africa, Atlanta to name but a few destinations.
